Toner arrives per color under codes such as CLX-Y8380A, the imaging drums come as CLX-R838X units in matching colors, and the CLX-W8380A waste toner container collects what the machine discards. The waste container is the one people forget until the printer stops.
Reading Samsung Part Numbers
Samsung codes read left to right. CLX or CLP identifies the printer family, the next letter gives the part or color with Y for yellow, M for magenta, C for cyan and K for black, and the digits tie it to a model series. R marks a drum and W marks the waste container, which is why CLX-R838XK and CLX-Y8380A are not interchangeable.
